Like any project that involves planning, development, artists, and engineers, the larger of a budget you have to work with, the more robust and polished the final product will be. For example, a car can be built for $2,000, or $200,000. Both cars will have the same functionality, they have wheels, doors, steering wheel, they need fuel, and can drive you from place A to place B. The difference lies in the experience. No one will confuse a $2,000 car from a $200,000 car.

Knowing what kind of budget you have to work with is essential to the planning stage of app development. Our team is experienced with working with budgets of all sizes. The time involved to build an app can vary greatly. There are many steps involved that all have flexible time frames depending on the app’s requirements. The shortest time for development is one month, but depending on the project, may take considerably longer. Once an app is developed, time is also needed for beta testers and approval by the distribution channel (for example the iTunes App Store).

If you decided to add extra features or support to your app, our team can work with you to create a timeline complete with goals and milestones to insure that all of your updated content can be added to your app.

For distribution of apps on the iTunes App Store an App Developer License is required. Our company is an official Apple iOS development team. If your app is going to be distributed to your users for free, we are happy to include use of our Apple Development License to distribute your app at no additional fee. If you want to sell an app on the iTunes App Store you will need to purchase a Developer’s Licence directly from Apple.

Our project planners and developers have lots of experience working with projects that involve more then one team. By taking advantage of collaborative software such as: Google Docs, DropBox, ManyMoon Project Planner, we make it easy for everyone to communicate clearly and always be up to date.

We understand that it can be frustrating working with a development team that for whatever reason cannot fulfill your needs. Our company has experience taking a project already partially developed by another team and bringing it to completion.

eBooks are books in a digital format, designed for electronic reading devices (eReaders).

Just as a printed book must be arranged by a page layout designer, eBooks must be formatted to appear on the eReader the same way it does in the print version. This is done by programming the book in an .epub file using HTML and CSS so the eReader knows how to display the content.

.epub (electronic publication) is the file type used most commonly for eReaders.

Currently the most popular eReader that does not support .epub format is the Kindle which uses its own format called .mobi.

Although many websites claim to be able to convert your file from some other format to an .epub file, the file output will not appear the same as the file input [image comparison]. The reason is that each file type uses its own format, which is not easily transferable to .epubs. Also many things which may be integral to a printed book have no place in an eBook. For example eBooks do not need page numbers because the eReader automatically paginates. Font size and style are irrelevant because eReaders use a default font size and style and allow users to choose if they want to change it.

Just like any other specialized task that you would not try to do on your own, eBook formatting requires an expert with intimate knowledge of the process. Some types of formatting is not even supported and can only be successfully implemented with workarounds which we have developed.

Each eReader has its own quirks and requirements and appSTUDIO knows how to make sure that your eBook will look great across the board! In addition to programming your book in .epub format, your book will be optimized as a separate .mobi version for use with the Amazon Kindle.

As a preliminary service appSTUDIO can scan a hard copy of your book and then use OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technology to extract the text. The book will then be subjected to rigorous QA testing to make sure its integrity is retained and there are no errors.

Like any service with multiple variables there is not set price for eBook development. Each component of the process has its own cost, and of course this cost varies according to the size of the project. For example for publishers who already have a good digital marketing platform in place we can just program you books. If you don’t we can also help set you up with one. Maybe you already have something in place but it’s not performing to your satisfaction - we will have our marketing experts analyze it and help optimize it for maximum performance. We will guide you through the whole process so that you can make the informed decision as to what services you need, and the final product will be exact to your specifications.
